What An Afternoon With Our Grand Parents and Parents!
Fri, Jul 4th, 2025
Year 1 would like to thank all of our grand parents and parents who gave up their time to come and share in some old fashioned games to wrap up our history unit. This will be a highlight of the children's year and something they remember moving forward. Since then, the most popular game among all grades in the school yard is SKIPPING! Such a great afternoon and such a positive impact on not only the Year 1 students but all students of St James! Thank you.
Welcome to Term 3, weeks 1 and 2! We hope the holidays treated you well. As we commence the second half of the year we are seeking the support of some parent volunteers who are available in the mornings to read with children. This would be from 8:40 - 9:00, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. To be compliant to do this you would need to have a 'volunteers' Working With Children Check, which can be easily attained by following this link https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-for-a-working-with-children-check. If you are able to support with this, could you please reach out either in person or via email. We will look to get a roster together and commence this in week 2. Thank you for your help.
We will also be starting our Springloaded program in Week 2. Thank you to everyone who promptly signed the permission via Compass, please ensure waivers have been signed and returned to school ASAP!
As always we look forward to another great term with the Year 1 children.
