Our School Spectacular is coming up soon! Year 1 students will wear "incredibly vibrant, bright, neon clothing".

Over the next fortnight, Year 1 students will be diving into exciting new concepts across English and Mathematics:

Phonics: Exploring how 'y' and 'ey' can make the long 'e' sound at the end of words when reading and writing, followed by learning how 'oy' and 'oi' create the 'oi' sound.
Reading & Writing: Focusing on persuasive texts, learning about arguments, persuasive language, and techniques inspired by the quality text Hey, Little Ant.
Mathematics

Place Value & Numbers: Developing knowledge, understanding, and skills through using groups of 10, quantifying and partitioning large collections, demonstrating equivalence, and comparing numbers using various representations.
Patterns & Time: Discovering patterns in large numbers and exploring how an analog clock face is made by curving a standard number line.
Home Learning & Practice

At home, please continue to support your child's learning by reading every night and practising their tricky words and sound sheets! Keep up the counting practice as well—teachers will be assessing the students' counting skills over the next few weeks.

Join us at St Joseph’s church Sunday the 13th September to celebrate Fr. Michael’s Jubilee. Please refer to the flyer in the parent resource tab for more information.

Local Community Police Project. We have been gifted two surfboards to decorate as part of a local community art exhibition. If you are able to help with donations of shells, please deliver these to the school office.
