Year 2 Excursion

The Year 2 students were wonderfully well-behaved throughout the Jellurgal excursion, listening attentively under the spectacular weather while exploring the ancient midden site. They showed utmost respect during the captivating Aboriginal dance show and remained exceptionally focused as they caught the amazing whale show from Point Danger. To round out a memorable day, the children politely sat together to enjoy their delicious donuts, making their teachers and school incredibly proud.

Week 9:
In Maths, Year 2 are learning counting and addition and subtraction strategies. They are also focusing on combining and separating quantities by forming multiples of 10 when working with larger numbers. Please ask your children about the learning that is happening in Maths.
In English, Year 2 will be reading the Australian version of The Hare and the Tortoise, and also a picture book; The Lion and the Mouse. They will be investigating fables and how fables are used to teach lessons. They will also be learning about the other features of a fable. I wonder who's child can explain the features of a fable?
Local Community Police Project. We have been gifted two surfboards to decorate as part of a local community art exhibition. If you are able to help with donations of shells, please deliver these to the school office.
OUR SCHOOL SPECTACULAR
In week 10, we have our 2026 school spectacular.
For our performance, Year 2 students are required to wear athletic gear, if possible red, to match our song 'Hit me with your best shot'.
