Parable

In week 1, we have been working collaboratively with our Religion assessment groups to research and explain the world behind the text (historical context), the world of the text (the parable) and the world in front of the text (the message). Students have been creating scripts in their groups to eventually record their parable and information. They have the choice to act it out, use clay, puppets or stop motion to show their learning.

What a great start to Term 4 we have had! The students have attacked their work with great energy. The focus has been preparing for the Mission Fair. A huge shoutout to all families for supporting the Mission Fair this year. The students were creative in their stall designs and worked enthusiastically as a team to promote their stalls and encourage other students to visit their stalls.
(Check Resource Section) Your child may have already or will be about to go through puberty. This is a time of rapid growth which involves many changes. To support you as the primary educator of your child in this sensitive area of development, our school will be hosting a puberty parent night on the 23rd of October 2024 at 6:00 pm. This parent night will be for you and your child to attend via Zoom and will be facilitated by a qualified Family Life Educator using the program Things Are Changing. The annual O’Dwyer Shield and Billy Hardy Shield will be contested between St James and St Joseph’s on Thursday at 5 pm on the St Joseph College Ovals. This will be the final time the Year 6 students represent St James on the sporting field!
