NAIDOC Week

Year 6 had an incredible NAIDOC Week diving deep into First Nations history, culture, and traditions through hands-on activities and school-wide celebrations. Out on the oval, students tried their hand at boomerang throwing with Mr Stubbs—learning quickly that getting the right curve and return takes serious skill—while also getting creative building model humpies to explore traditional Aboriginal architecture and natural building materials. The highlight of the week came during our whole-school assembly, where Reeve, Junia, Sam, and Lincoln brought amazing energy to the stage with an impressive live didgeridoo performance that made the celebration truly unforgettable!

LifeChanger Foundation is a preventative mental health and wellbeing non-profit that
empowers young people with the courage to thrive by developing their social, emotional
and resilience skills. Last year, the students were introduced to LifeChangers through a leadership day. This year, LifeChangers will deliver the Year 6 program; a transformational journey that empowers participants to better understand themselves and the person they want to be.

Throughout the four-part workshop series, participants will have the opportunity to
understand themselves better by exploring the following concepts:
1.Navigating Friendships and Building Meaningful Connections
2.Understanding Values and Strengths
3.Understanding the Power of Emotions
4.Embracing Change and Bouncing Forward

These workshops have been scheduled for the 21st and 28th of August, and the 4th and 18th of September.
