Shape Dectivies.

Our students have been incredibly busy diving into the wonderful world of geometry lately! Over the past couple of weeks, we have been investigating different 2D shapes, learning how to identify them by their official names, and exploring their unique properties.

Ask your child if they can point out the sides and vertices (corners) of shapes around the house—they have become absolute experts at counting them!

In addition to identifying shapes, we’ve also started moving them around. The students have been learning how to transform shapes using:

Slides (Translations): Moving a shape up, down, or sideways without turning it.
Reflections (Flips): Creating a perfect mirror image of a shape across a line.
It has been wonderful to see their spatial reasoning skills grow through these hands-on activities. Fantastic job, everyone!
