Stepping into the Unknown

 

 
We are so proud!

It has been a joy to watch the students step out of their comfort zones recently. Whether it was tackling the challenges at Springloaded, taking risks with new concepts in their learning, or showing kindness and bravery on the playground, their confidence is truly growing.

English: Figurative Language
We have been learning a lot about figurative devices and how to incorporate them into our writing to make it more descriptive and engaging. Some examples we have explored include:

Similes: Comparing things using 'like' or 'as' (e.g., as brave as a lion).
Metaphors: Saying something is something else (e.g., the classroom was a beehive of activity).
Personification: Giving human qualities to non-human things (e.g., the wind whistled through the trees).
Onomatopoeia: Words that sound like the noise they describe (e.g., bang, sizzle, or splash).

Buddies
Last Friday, we had our very first Buddy Visit! It was wonderful to see the students connecting with their younger peers. We had a fantastic time playing games with each other and beginning the journey of getting to know our buddies. These sessions are so important for building leadership skills and a sense of community across the school.
