Shapes and more shapes

Over the last two weeks our classroom was buzzing as the kids got stuck into some serious hands-on fun with 2D shapes. It was so great to see them twisting and turning shapes to see how they fit together. There were so many lightbulb moments. You could see the pure excitement on their faces when they realised they could "break" a hexagon apart into triangles or join two squares to make a rectangle. They weren't just sitting and listening; they were building, experimenting, and genuinely loving the challenge of discovering how shapes work. It turned a tricky mathematical concept into a total creative win, and honestly, they didn't want to pack up!
