Zoo Design Challenge

This fortnight in Maths we explored area and perimeter in a really fun way. Our challenge was to design our own zoos, making sure each animal enclosure met specific requirements for both area and perimeter. We used our knowledge of factors and multiples to work out different possible lengths and widths for each enclosure, which showed us how these skills connect. It was exciting trying to fit all the enclosures into the zoo while still giving the animals the right amount of space. From creating a big paddock for the elephants to designing a swimming pool for the penguins, we got to be creative while using lots of maths!
