Fraction Towers

Happy Mother's Day! We hope you enjoy your special day and the beautiful creations Year 4 made for you. Thank you for everything you do!

In Week 2 in Maths, we have been learning to create fractional parts of a length so we can model equivalent fractions. Students used MAB’s to build towers with complementary fractions to make a whole e.g. 2/6 + 4/6 = 6/6. This can be supported at home by having conversations about where we see complimentary fractions in the real world.

Can you please remind your child to return their homework folders on a Friday. Your child now has the opportunity to take readers home if they have a homework folder to help them with their decoding skills and fluency. Homework is detailed in the what's on this week tab.
