This week in Geography, we started working on our final assessment task of the year. Throughout the term, we have explored what farming looked like for the Traditional Custodians of the land, researching the techniques they used to sustain the flora and fauna. We also compared some of these methods, such as firestick farming, with modern techniques used to manage and preserve the land today.
For our assessment, we will create an informative text to educate our audience about two chosen traditional farming techniques.
On Thursday, we examined a range of examples from previous Year 5 classes, providing feedback on what worked well in their writing and what could have been improved. This activity gave us valuable ideas for structuring our own informative texts and introduced us to tier two and three vocabulary that can enhance the authority of our writing.
